The one-line version
We aggregate. We cite. We don't pretend to have first-hand knowledge we don't have.
What we do
- Aggregate listings from the main Irish land portals (Daft.ie, MyHome.ie), the main online auction platform (BidX1), and a tracked set of specialist auctioneer websites
- Cross-reference market reports published by Daft.ie, SCSI, Teagasc, CSO, and the Irish Farmers Journal
- Review platform features hands-on: we set up accounts, test alerts, check filtering, note what works and what doesn't
- Write guides based on publicly-available legislation, Department of Agriculture documentation, and Revenue guidance
- Update when source data changes — typically twice a year for market data, annually for legislative content
What we don't do
- We don't inspect land in person. We don't walk every field we write about, and we won't claim to. Some listings may be more (or less) attractive in reality than they appear online.
- We don't give legal, tax, planning or financial advice. Our guides are educational. Always retain a solicitor, tax adviser, planning consultant, or qualified valuer before committing to any specific transaction.
- We don't originate land price data. We draw on published reports, credit the source, and summarise honestly.
- We don't let affiliate relationships change rankings. Our rankings are explained page-by-page.
How our rankings work
Our "Best For" rankings are based on:
- Inventory size — verified by spot-checking listing counts for the target land type and target counties
- Search and filter quality — tested hands-on
- Alert reliability — tested with live saved searches over multiple weeks
- User interface — judged on the experience of a realistic land search workflow
- Market reputation — discussion in Irish Farmers Journal, professional conversations, SCSI material
Where we refer to a provider as "best for" a category, the rationale is on the page. If you disagree, we'd genuinely like to hear why — contact us.

Corrections
If we've got something wrong — a statutory change we missed, a dated price, a misinterpreted report — please tell us. We update pages visibly, keep an eye on our sources, and care about accuracy more than about never having to revise anything.
